I have loved to draw ever since I was a little child. I drew pictures in pencil of people and also liked drawing letters and enhancing them. I did some painting in tempera and casein when I was a student at the Art Institute in Chicago at about the age of 12. We did still life paintings and then semi nudes as I got a little older.

I married and had four children, and now have the joy of having six grandchildren. I returned to school to become a nurse and then spent 27 years as a Psychiatric Nurse working in hospitals.

I took an oil painting class recently and reawakened my love of portraits. People have been giving me pictures of their cats to paint and when I see a picture of a beautiful child, I feel compelled to put it on canvas. I am inspired by love of the subject and by the beauty coming from that face. I can do adults and other pets also. My style is realistic. I usually paint from pictures because it is too hard to get a child or a cat to pose.
